Pretty Good String Band

The Pretty Good String Band meets at 6:30 to 8:30 on Thursdays at the Methodist Church to play music.  PGSB meets every week, unless the weather is so bad no one should be driving. Some people come regularly, and some people come occasionally whenever  they can make it. Currently we have anywhere from four to twelve people showing up.

Everybody is welcome to these jam sessions. We welcome guitars, bass guitars, autoharps, dulcimers, fiddle, mandolin, harmonicas, and also anyone who wants to just sing with us. Sometimes people stop by just to listen. Usually we just go around the circle taking turns picking songs. Our repertoire is eclectic; country, folk, blues, gospel. Afterwards we go out together to a local restaurant and hang together. It’s always a fun evening.

Occasionally the Pretty Good String Band gets to play a gig in the community or for the church. We’re pretty good, you know. For information, call Barb Saint-Amour, 371-1051. You can also contact her to get on the Pretty Good String Band email list for up to date happenings and information.
